Good value, close to the beach, no need to take your car.
Delighted with the stay and looking forward to returning to this hotel.
Positive: The hotel’s location is great: close to the beach and easy to get to.
The room is clean and very comfortable and the equipment ideal. What’s more, the staff are welcoming.
Negative: The upstairs occupant was a bit noisy.
Easy access, ample parking, simple but spacious and clean rooms, friendly staff.
A good alternative to the usual hotel, more convivial especially for groups.
To be recommended
Ideal for a family! Positive: the room was very spacious and clean; Ditto for the adjoining bathroom; It was quiet, great and ideal for a family! Negative: The mattress was okay but not very comfortable; But otherwise, more good points than bad;
Very friendly staff who made me feel at home; Very comfortable bed – I slept very well;
Positive: I had a great time at L’Escale; I had cycled to Dunkirk from Calais and arrived very tired and hungry; For this reason, I was very happy that dinner was available in the cafeteria just downstairs and I didn’t have to go out and find a restaurant.
Negative: More breakfast options would have been nice; I don’t eat sugar so I found breakfast a bit difficult; All the cereals were sweetened processed cereals; It would have been nice to have a sugar-free option like oats and sugar-free whole yoghurt;
This is our 5th stay if I’m not mistaken. We are a sailing club from the Paris region (2DN Voile) and we come here once or twice a year to go sand yachting. There are usually between 12 and 18 of us, except this year when the flu decimated half of those involved. As before, we appreciated the welcome and the accommodation. We’ll definitely be back.
Cheap hotel with no frills Really cheap and clean hotel; A no-frills bed for the night; They host many school trips and can therefore be a little noisy if teenagers are in the building; So get some earplugs! The beds are basic and creak a little, but it’s clean and very well located for exploring Dunkirk; Good for one night!
Youth hostel located near the beach at Malo-les-Bains and a 20-minute walk from the center of Dunkirk. Bus (free) every 10 minutes, with FRAC, LAAC and Musée Dynamo nearby. Very clean establishment. The buffet breakfast is perfect (€5, hard to beat). The staff are very pleasant. It’s a youth hostel, not a hotel, so there’s no TV or WIFI in the rooms. I recommend it.
